What is Tear Trough Enhancement

Tear trough enhancement is the placement off a filler deep below the skin and soft tissue around the under eye area, thereby lifting up the these tissues, making the tear trough appear shallower and more refreshed.

How long does it last

With any filler the body will react different with every individual. Fillers need building up for the body to recognise it and for the filler to stick. Once built up this can last upto 10-12 months.

What products do we use

For a tear trough enhancement we use:

Teosyal Redensity

What is the Tear Trough?

The tear trough is the dark groove between the lower eyelid and the cheek. This can appear hollow and dark, sometimes baggy. As we age, one of the changes which is commonly noticed and commented on is the appearance and gradual worsening of dark circles under the eyelids.   This occurs due to thinning of the skin under the eyes.

How Long does the treatment take ?

This treatment can take upto 30 minutes

15 minutes numbing

15 minutes for procedure

When should I see results ?

Results are visible straight away, but the collagen can carry on stimulating upto 2 weeks prior to treatment

Will there be bruising/swelling ?

Immediately after treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. There may be bruising as the eye area is very sensitive and may bruise quite severely. We tend to use the cannula technique as this causes less trauma and bruising. This is a normal result of the injection. The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. If it continues or if other reactions occur, please call us.

The results directly after the treatment should not be seen as the final result as you will be swollen at this time.

Avoid touching the treatment area 6 hours after the treatment. After that the area can be gently washed with soap and water and light make-up can be applied.

Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. solarium and sunbathing) or extreme cold.
